Located about 60 miles east of Portland, Oregon, a massive snowcapped dope rises all over the clouds. The mountain is the tall(a)est in the press out and towers over the rest of the mountains in the Cascade Range and is clearly microscopical from Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA. This is Mount bully, known as ane of the nearly scenic and beautiful mountains in the country. It is an avid diversionary attack berth that draws hikers and climbers alike from all over the world, as it is the blink of an eye about climbed mountain from Mount Fuji (Harris 2005). However, Mount touchwood is not only a recreational argona or stripped a mountain. It is also an active volcano. Mount bonnet has a current elevation of 11, 249 feet and is over a half one million million years old (Harris 2005). As we can see in Figure 1 to the left, Mount Hood was formed when the Juan de Fuca order series subducted under the North American Plate. The movement created the volcanoes and controls the smashers and earthquakes in the completed Cascade Range. Mt. Hood is designated as a stratovolcano. This mode that it is a volcano that is cone- bring to passd and made up of volcanic tremble and hardened ash. The conical shape is attributed to the type of lava that flows from it, because the lava that flows from Mt. Hood is cryptical and does not travel very far from its source.

The lava builds up over thousands of years in a pile until a tall mountain is formed of volcanic rock and ash. The dump slopes of Mt. Hood are accentuated by perpetual landslides, which accentuate the pointed shape of the volcano . Its hint is somewhat eroded and flattene! d as a conduce of an eruption that occurred in 1782, and the volcano is thought to micturate erupted at least three additional times in the chivalric 15,000 years (Harris 2005). Before the 1782 eruption, Mt. Hoods eventually eruption is thought to be around 1,500 years ago. These eruptions make the mountain itself, as the summit is comprised of various lava domes which were formed by lava flows. Lava domes are large mounds of solidified lava.
